An Open Letter to Depression

You, We can

Dear Depression,

My old friend. I know we shared some memories together. You, me and my shadow. We three were companions. I still have saved some souvenirs you gave me. Scars, that are pierced in my bones.

Leaving you was very difficult. Your presence made me resilient towards change but yes.
Look where I have come. I have changed but without you, I couldn't be this. You have polished me in a way I didn't expect. Your every bitter candy I savoured, made my immune better.

I liked accepting your challenges. You mostly defeated me initially. However, with persistence and perseverance, I have won the final fight. Yes, you have wounded me but not killed.

So, please accept your defeat, my dear friend.
Not hoping to see you soon.

Your unfaithful friend,
